Disco 2 No radio audio

Well this morning I had a dead battery, jump started it but noticed later I didn't have any music. The aftermarket alpine radio is working fine, just no sound, not even a hiss. I checked the 2 fuses under the drivers kick panel, and they are fine.. am I missing something? I'm guessing it's the amp that's not working properly.

Exactly which fuses did you check?... was F17 one of them?

I believe it was f17, and one next to it, which did cut power to the radio unit too.

Then the head unit's pre-amp or the amp is fubar or there's a connection issue between them.

Err.. well I don't have any other radios to try.. or amps. I'll have to see if there is power going to the amp I guess.

Eell, I sorta tested some stuff. The radio output power on to the amp is working fine, and so is the constant power to amp. So it's definitely getting power. If I unplug the radjos audio plug, the amp gives a hissing noise, and when I plug the radio back in it goes silent. My guess is dead amp.. i would like to upgrade it but think will just try a scrappy one for now.

Just out of interest, what's happening on the "System Enable" line out of the head unit? It should be pin 5 on the main plug to the head unit, the plug with the power wiring, not the audio lines.

System enable supplies 12v to the amplifier from the radio unit just as it should.
