Ey up,

Set off today in my 110 and got no drive. There was no bang or anything, just a grinding noise that sounds like it's coming from around my left foot.

In diff lock, I get drive in both high and low. With the centre diff in neutral and the gearbox in gear, no shafts spin which is what's confusing me.

Could the transfer box be lunched?

I'd be very grateful for any advice. Thank you

You won’t get drive if the transfer box is in neutral.

Put the transfer box back to just high or low, not diff lock. Put it into first, and get someone to slowly release the clutch. Have a look at which prop shaft is spinning, thats the area the fault is in.

Hello and welcome to forum, head off to the introduce your self section and give a bit of info about yourself and the vehicle you drive, model, year, engine and what you use it for.
In the mean time transfer in neutral and shafts will not turn, it is in neutral after all.
Probably a broken half shaft or drive flange stripped.

Thank you, I was being a bit thick.

The rear shaft spins, it's a Salisbury, so I'm guessing it's a half shaft?

Just had a look..

Thank you

They look rank. Yeh half shaft or drive flange. Easy fix. If the splines have failed its likely the splines on it mate are also significantly worn.

Hard to see on the picture, but it looks like one of the shafts is too short and has been welded to the flange.

Thanks for advice, I'll make a hello thread tonight
