Im not sure why all these problems are happening at once! Today I attempted to get the cruise control module working and found the usual split hoses (goes behind the engine to a t-piece, then to a diaphragm and a switch on the brake pedal). For whatever reason now when the turbo spools up I can hear from within the cabin pressured air leaking, no noticeable loss in power its just an annoying noise - presume there must be some vacuum pipe from the engine that comes inside the cabin (sounds more like glovebox side)?

Thanks in advance

Matt.

Feel around at the back of the inlet manifold, there should be a bolt screwed into a hole at the back, if this comes out it makes a hell of a wooshing noise as all your boost blasts out the hole. I find a calliper bolt is the same thread to replace it with - need to cut it down in size mind, and it's the course calliper bolts (older type).

Found problem, elbow hose from rear of turbo delaminated and split. Temporarily fixed with duct tape! Until can get a replacement hose tomorrow. Strange how it sounded "in" the cabin! Guess things are deceptive.. glad I didnt take the dash out looking for it!

Thanks for your help,

Matt.

Strange ! you usualy get lack of power and black smoke when that happens:confused:

Aye I know... definately no black smoke but was down on power today, I'm not 100% my MAF is working correctly, doesnt seem to make any difference if its plugged in or not. The crimps in the 4 pin connector were completely corroded (all green and fury) so I've crimped a replacement connector on and cleaned up the terminals on the MAF but still getting the check engine light flashing on and off.

I'm due to go to Scotland in her for work tomorrow so just hoping that the motor factors stock the hose... the ducttape solution has held up to now but don't fancy doing 200 miles each way with it! I'll probably splash out and pick up a new MAF for it whilst I'm at the shop its certainly not been changed in a long time (engines got 140k on the clock).
