Awesome stuff, cheers

I'm hoping to keep this a cheapish hobby and generally abuse the hell out of it lol
Cough cough lol

Anyway I've had it up on the ramp and it's pretty tidy had to do the o/s track rod end and tracking and it's drives ok now also did a quick oil and filter while I was there, the tyres should be with me on Monday so will stick them on then and add some more pics then

I agree I mostly keep to trials and greenlaning tbh but my mate is going. I agree loadsa hooligans but its a fun teaching the youngsters to drive propperly.

The blue motor 88 inch I know that motor I think the owner mucta sold it

I guessits the same guy Luke aka Turbo freak. He shoulda pulled you out forwards TBH.

Lots of bad recoverys and stuff going on at Whaddon teaching new people bad things.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFjCjn8H088]rope please - YouTube[/ame]

Here's TurboFreak trying a section we laid out for a local club. I think he was pretty much a noobie back then. The section was a good one caught alot of people out and was cleared by a few aswell well a Hub through gate 1 top of the climb out. More importantly no motors broken or damaged and all had fun!

To be honest I put myself in that position, over the back on the right (looking from the burger van) is a mound I tried getting up, got x-axled at the top some came back down....didnt see the hole there and fell in sideways! Few lads in Vitaras came and got it to where it was in the video....matey in the 88" was an absolute lifesaver getting me out, had to dig it as well as winch it to free it!!

To be honest my Disco is not something I really want to destroy as its my only car and fairly tidy, also its had a lot of hard earned spent on it....covered most of the Herts lanes now as well as an Essex trip with some of the people on here. Aint been laning for a while now, gets boring on your own as my mates that buy 4x4s only hold onto them for a few weeks before they get bored :(

We do some good outings ocasionally. Comps are where the fun is trialling or Punch events but you have to be a bit sensible if its your everyday car then take it easy likewise whats the points of a lockered up tricked up mota if it only ever gets polished.

Its a tuf one most of my mates buy an old spunky RRC or Disco, destroy it, sell it for spares and then get back into it a few years later and do exactly the same. mine seems to keep going but I don't use it as hard as I could but its built to be abused uprated stuff where it needs to be uprated (except front axle To Be done) but getting there. Mine was converted back for the alrc nationals last year semi std. not its going back to take on more serious stuff but its still only fun and will one day take me where ever I decide to drive in this world so It cannot be destroyed.

Is it best to have a rope already fitted for WHEN I get stuck? And also I need to sort out some sort of recovery point but what sort of thing should it be? I'm quite happy to make/ weld something up but what ??

none of the guys I know that buy and destroy would put anywhere near as much effort into sorting a disco as CoupeUK has and I suspect thats why they don't care about them. telling them the bushes are knackared you get the responce well its a land rover they all drive like that......

I'm going to keep evolving this one I think, have no plans to get shot of it anytime soon but am looking at getting a ****ter of a RRC or 200TDi Disco to use primarily for P&P, non road legal with tyres and chopped arches, just basic stuff that I can transfer to another when its destroyed....

Any laning trips coming up soon? To be honest i'd love to come Whaddon but would have to shotgun a seat with someone I think, will have to see if anyone I know is going!

I think I'm full up only got a truck cab until I get chance to swap it out. I have promised a seat to somone already otherwise you weould have been most welcome to jump in. I'm really going because I want to test my locker after re-install. Plus a mate is getting back into it after quite a few years away from offroading he has a RRC P&P motor to mess about with and wants somone there he can trust to help out in case he does somthing silly which I thought was quite semsible of him. I may only go for the morning TBH. As long as my locker doesn't throw up any nasties I'll be happy.

Sorry for hijacking the thread....

Luton Bedfordshire, Hold our pub meet in Dunstable Every first Wednesday of the month next Wed is out Oct meet. Everyone welcome we get some lads from Cambs, Hitchen and sometimes the Surrey lot meet up. Kris300 and Meanie we all get together for a beer or lemonade (driving sucks sometimes), chat Bull and try our best to plan outings (of late I think everyone has been a bit skint and our meetings and outings have suffered a wee bit but I think we're getting back on track slowly) We used to meet at the Crooked Chimney opposite Brocket Hall but it was not central for most of the regulars.

By the word "WE" I mean Herts Laners no single person is in charge not a club just a friendly group of like minded guys n gals meet up for a chat. Must organise the Xmas meal and see who is interested in putting their name and a deposit down. Kinda organisation required which is a scary word it implies that we are organised hahaha!!

No thats fine, appreciate your offer anyway had the circumstances been different!

I'm down the road in Stevenage, lived in Letchworth more or less all my life...

I know the Crooked Chimney, theres a good byway down the road from there although its hard to get into ;)

May take a trip across to the pub meet soon then, will have to set a reminder on me phone lol

Good lane comes out on the main road that bottom corner I always have to be careful not to hit the tree branch. I think the council flattened it a while back. I regularly do the Hitchen St Pauls Walden lanes just for a giggle. I know Stevenage well ish used to meet my old boss there baefore heading into London. He was Nr Chells way I think.

I remember it being on the same side as the pub, if coming from the A1 direction and heading towards Wheathampstead it would appear on the left - can only get into it from the opposite direction as it pops down behind the armco on a sideslope, not good for shiny paint due to the bushes. Comes out at a pub in one of the local villages next to a derelict monument thing :s

Theres another nearby in W'stead, fairly flat, goes through a ford but its ok I guess...got them stupid white triangle shaped bollards at one end, not sure what theyre for but I slide between/over them ;)
