Hi all. New to this forum. I have been the proud and sometimes frustrated owner of a P Reg 300tdi discovery since April 2009. It remained pretty standard until November 2011 when i slowly started modifying it starting with a 2" terrafima lift kit, Rebel Winch bumper and a cheap 2nd hand winch.
This year I have added a bermach wraparound diff guard at the front and a cheap clip on one at the back. It currently has no carpet or sound deadening or headliner as i stipped it out to get some of the welding done and a so far unsucessful attempt to stop the sunroof leaking. I will add some pictures to the thread when i figure out how.

i completely removed it and cleaned it up and re sealed it with "Sticks like Sh*t". The rubber seal that seals the glass/cartridge looks almost new. Both drain tubes are well sealed. Im baffled. Considering getting it welded up because the roof panel is steel isnt it?

not to sure, i know people do weld it up, mine was leaving because the rubbers werent sitting in grove correctly, you could try Vaseline on seal between rubber and glass , worked on my last disco, or just seal it with silicone ?

Right, MOT expired yesterday so im looking for somebody local to liverpool to weld the front inner wings and rear inner arches as well as a smallish hole in the drivers foot well. Oh and i have just discovered that the drivers side swivel seal is leaking quite badly. How hard is that for a DIYer?

Drivers side one is quite bad. I suspect that it will need doing for the MOT because the brake pipes are clipped to it I think. Passnger side less so. All the rust on mine is 75% worse on the drivers side for some reason.

As long as I can get it through an MOT as cheap as possible I will be happy. I want to get each bit of rust repaired properly and then waxoyled/underealed a bit at a time and hopefully end up with a solid Disco

Ok, I have decided that in the new year I'm going to splash the cash and purchase myself a MIG welder and start my own repair thread and take the subsequent abuse for my poor quality welding. Wish me luck. :scratching_chin:
