Hi Guys
Have been thinking of a Landy of some sort for a year or so and thought I'd throw it out there for some feedback.
I just want a reliable machine that I can just jump in and go. I don't *need* the whole 4x4 thing as day to day, I wouldn't really need it but we do go camping every year so we load up quite a bit then. So that's where it would come into it's own (and when we have more of this snow that we are currently getting!) We are a family of 4 and have a dog.
I won't be cleaning it every week, or every month for that matter - it's an A > B machine I want. Comfort? Well as long as it's warm and dry and can do a 200 mile trip a few times a year without being too uncomfortable, that's fine. Otherwise I do a daily 12 mile round trip to work plus the usual social stuff, shopping etc.
Budget? £5,000 tops I would say but I'd be happy to meet the requirements with a £1000 car if it's reliable! I don't care really.
Currently driving an '97 Merc diesel estate that could be nearing the end of its life so changing soon I think...
So, what would the gathered collective recommend to an inexperienced soul like me? I'm based in Cardiff, so if there's any local places I can see some old models and test drive, that would be good. Stratstones only do £20k machines by the looks of it!
Thanks in advance!
