Newbie (sort of) Kent

Hi folks,
Ive been an inactive member for a few years now, but i finally wrangled a sereis 3 of my own and as such, im here good and proper. lots of work has been done, but as im sure all of you know, there will allways be more to do. generally speaking, i know the ins and outs of cars, but i cant profess to know landrovers all that well (Morris minors maybe) . as such, ill probably end up relying on some of you for helping me out with some of the quirks and such that they will surely have.
So, i look forwards to getting to know some folks , and perhaps even learning something, even if it takes a while to sink in, ive heard you're a patient lot. You have to be... you own Landrovers...

Hello Wilson90 and welcome to the forum. My series 3 came from Kent, near Ashford. I live about 150 miles away and I foolishly thought I would be able to drive it home. I got about 50 miles before the AA had to come and get me.

That sounds like it was awfully close to me, which town?

I don't remember exactly, driving the landy was such a traumatic experience my mind is still a,blank for most of it. I picked it up from somewhere in the country, a coach building yard. I think that was where the previous owner had been keeping it. The steering was terrible even for series standards and the brakes needed pumping and then it veered to the right when they did bite. It cut out at every t junction and took ages to restart. It was a right performance. My son lives down that way, near Romney Marsh

Welcome. If you're familiar with Morris Minor engines a landy engine and the general peripherals will be familiar. Is it a runner?
