Hi All,

I've been lurking for a few weeks since buying a 2001 TD4. Thanks to the search button I've done most of the stuff, MAF AM, diff mount EGR valve etc. and it's running well.

I know the previous owner and he demolished a small wall with the NSR wheel when reversing and since then it's always pulled to the left. He had it aligned by a reputable outfit but it still pulled.

I got a camber gauge on the rear wheels and its negative NS and positive OS. It looks to me like the subframe has shifted across.

Nothing looks bent and i've checked all the bushes. I've slacked all the fixings and there seems to be some movement, adjustment.

Is there anything I can do to refit the subframe in the right place?

I can fit cam adjust bolts on the strut carrier and adjust it out but I,m sure its subframe.

Thanks for help in advance

Thanks for that, I agree, could be bent, maybee thats why its pulling a different way to how I want, but can't see anything that would bend and cause both rears to go out of camber, by the same ammount, but opposite ways. I've done a drop, and a kick and big hammers, lots of swearing but none of it has helped

ahemm ......YOU DO KNOW YER GOT TOE IN UN OUT ON YER REAR BIT [jist a thought] :) :) :)

Nice wheely liney man adjusted his rear toes, didn't notice the camber thing. Toe will shift with camber change.

I slacked the nuts on the subframe and it looks like you can shift the subframe about 2mm left or right, I didn't know i there was a procedure for subframe mounting (other than avoiding sharp bits) that means it is bolted up centrally.

I've just fleabayed a cd workshop manual so we'll see.

Great forum, Thanks, I'm learning Freelander ownership needs a sense of humour:)

Thanks, I'd have saved 100% of my ill advised investment, but this way I have the joy of waiting for the post service to clear the backlog, support those poor folk who set up fleabay cos they must be broke and possibly, just possibly, a positive feedback point to add to the proof of my sad existence.
