Changed a rear wheel bearing only 6 months ago, ebay special !

Rumbling and vibrating again.

What make bearings last as long as originals and where do people get them from please?

Pressed the outer in then pulled the centre of the hub in by tightening the driveshaft.

Any tips ?

I have found FAG wheel bearings at AF.

I have a set of large metal rings to suit the outer rim of most bearings. Bench pressed in.

I could press the Hub in while supporting the inner race. Would this be better??

That's the correct way.
If you'd said you tapped it in with a hammer, that would have been the cause, as hammering a ball bearing into place will damage it.
Pressing is perfect though, so presumably the new bearing has an ineffective shield, which has let water in.
When you change it, it'll be interesting to see inside.

Just to close this out. Fitted a new FAG bearing. The clue to bearing failure was grease coming out of the ABS sensor and the rear of the bearing. The seal had failed and bearing devoid of grease. Rough and rutted front bearing shell.
