Seasons Greetings!

Got new toy as of yesterday, nice 1998 RR 4.6 with lpg conversion. Done 95k with LR service history to 70k not too much documented since but appears to have been well looked after. Be a long term keeper if its all its cracked up to be Got a reasonable workshop and had verious LRs previously but mostly doozles and never a V8. I know what I am getting in to but am completely new to LPG.

Will get it in the workshop next week for a full check over starting from the basics.

Need to pick up the servicing from a known point. Im quite sure this is not the case looking at the general condition but lets assume nothing has been done for the last 20k miles/6 years, so where to start?

What is required for the LPG system? No LPG certificate is that a problem? What recommended oil and plugs etc?

Cheers!

Start with a peer into the rocker covers or better still remove them. That will give you an idea of internal engine condition and breather cleanliness etc.

Always a good idea to strip and clean the top end on these cos they accumulate crud.

Then just change the oil and filter for some 15w40 semi synthetic, throw a set of new ngk plugs in there and see what happens :)

Cheers will do the basics first then get it in to an lpg specialist. I know it will never have super mini economy but do need it to be as fuel efficient as possible

They'll still drink the autogas on short journeys..Ive found the most benefit of LPG on the longer journeys. And If set up properly it'll run sweet as a nut too.
What part of the world you in?
I can thoroughly recommend the guys at Worsley LPG centre,Manchester
