Hi all
Quick question if I may. I have a 98 disco 2 And unfortunately in the week, I obtained a puncture. Went to two local tyre places today to be told it couldn't be repaired due to the fact that the repair wouldn't last. The puncture has been caused by a small segment of steel, causing a slit of approx 5mm wide within the main tread of the tyre ( not near the shoulders)

Does anyone know if it can be repaired, if not, where's the best place to get a tyre........the car currently sits on a set of Avons so would like the same I think for the replacement if needed.

Cheers in advance
Steve

Hi Steve
So you don't like taking advice from the professionals who are having 'eyes on' the issue then..
I'm stumped on the best place to get a tyre, maybe I would ask at a local tyre shop, Google is also very helpful, you can even have a tyre sent to you :D

And :welcome: to the Forum

As said if you can't take the advice from TWO professional tyre fitters then why take the advice from someone who isn't. Personally I don't like having tyres repaired but maybe that's just me? I'll scrimp on a few things but tyres and brakes aren't on the list.....

If its a slit rather then a hole I wouldn't risk it mate. If you manage to get a repair contrary to advice you will be conscious of it every time you go on the motorway.
