Sorted through all wiring apart from Heater now everything else is working very well, Was really pleased that gearbox is better than my red 90. Made exhaust brackets today and took off back door for paint.
Hopefully all the plastics will be primed tomorrow ! I can see the light at the end of the Tunnel

What paint did you use for the front light surrounds? Guessing normal metal paint wouldn't take? Unless that's what used

Did you need to use a plastic primer on the light surrounds before spraying with the two pack paint?

I don't really understand the new two part/pack paint system.

You would need to spray them with an adhesion promoter/plastic primer or the likelihood of the paint peeling off is very high.

2 pack isn't really new, it's been around for years. Basically it's a 2 part system that you hardness with an isocyanide based hardener (that's the dangerous bit). It cures to a very hard finish. It will stick to basically all substrates if appropriate prep and priming has been done.

Arches . headlight surrounds and grill fitted. Wheels and tires fitted so close to the end of the tunnel the lights starting to blind me
A 1990 200tdi that should last another 27 years

If you prep and clean properly 2k won't peal off the plastic parts with normal primer.

Colour me impressed it looks awesome! Wish I could like it twice haha. Hopefully lasts longer than 27

Paint back door, sills/ floor plates. Fit seats roof lining, carpet, fit radio and Mot ! Then sort a Tonneau cover

Thank you all, still lots of bits to do but all being well should be going for MOT sometime the end of next week

Made speaker box's and fitted speakers, Fitted Seats but not connected heat pads yet, put roof liner in god that was a tight fit looks good though in black alcantara. Fitted DAB radio and aerial

Paid off though! Lucky to know people who are into it noone I know wants to haha
I go on lr4x4 sometimes I joined it to pester crazywabbit to reset my speedo for me; this is my haunt of choice though sites better
My friend lives around there I'll let him know!
I'm scared I'll finish mine and it'll get pinched. Seems rife now. Tempted to build a garage extention to hide it....
