yes, d'nt know how I will handle that right now. Today I collected all the parts to refurbish the 200 tdi engine. So, I will have to deal with that first. Also have a gearbox problem, d'nt know what to do with that either. Gearbox works ok, but it's dropping out of reverse all the time. I have to hold the stick when driving backwards. Maybe the gear of the reverse is worn or broken. According to so chap it's very difficult to repair yourself and it's better to buy a refurbish one, but that costs about Euro 1000,--. :eek:

The engine should mate to the gearbox ok. Used the full crank casing from the old engine (where it joins the block) and worth a new clutch at the same time. Not sure on the gears issue. I am thinking of the short r380 gearbox as much smoother. Very very expensive.
 
I mounted a metal 200TDi cylinder filter on a custom mount on the other side of the enjun to the turbo, mounted on the four threaded holes (air con?) with a duct pipe linking it together and going up to the snork. There's a photo, somewhere...
 
This is how mine is although I am not completely happy with its seal yet.

I removed the brackets from the discovery. Lil trimming and spacers to move from the wing but works well

Looks very nice, I'm not that far yet, motor hanging in the shed still. It's a bite to cold to do the fine repair jobs at the moment -6 Celsius. No heating in the shed. :flame:
 
You'll want a piping conversion kit too. That'll be for exhaust and for intercooler.

If you are getting rid of the exhaust/ scrapping it cut the last foot of the shaft off the gearbox. Very handy to use as a clutch alignment tool ;)
 
Yes, already checked the website of steven parkers. Is it so easy to cut of a piece of this gearbox shaft? I thought it would be hardened steel? I do need an alignment tool, haven't got it yet. Was not inculed withthe plate.
 
All i can say about landi zone, is if you have a job to do on your landi and even if you are the worlds best spannerman, somebody will have done that same job and posted the pitfalls. There is nothing better than listening to experience.
