Hi guys,

I'm pleased to say I just bought my first land rover. It is a lovely land rover 110 2.5d from 1984, it a 3 door hardtop van. It has been coverted into a campervan with poptop roof, kitchen etc. I'm picking the van up on Saturday and I'll be able to post a few pictures for you.

I'm currently living in Hampshire and planning to go to new forest and the beach quite often if possible.

I got a few questions from the car that the garage where i bought the car from has not been able to answer. As far as I'm aware this car came with an 2.5d N/A engine but the garage said they just replaced the turbo so I guess someone in the past updated it to the 2.5 turbo. Is that correct? I'm not a mechanic so I don't have much idea about engines.

In addition, I got two rear benches but no seatbelt in the back, I only got three seat belts at the front. Can I use those seats anyway?

Sorry for the questions but I couldn't find the answer anywhere.

Thanks for accepting me and my landy in this group and I hope I can meet you guys soon.

Hi and welcome! I’m an ex Winchester resident. Very nice part of the world!

Congratulations on the new purchase! As mentioned, we like pics too!

There are a couple of specialists in the Hampshire area. Which garage did you buy the Landy from? There are lots of resources online to ide tidy the engine, although a picture would help identify it.

Hi guys,

I just managed to upload some pictures from last weekend after picking up the van!!

We just spent our first night out and it was really fun. I have also driven it for more than 600milles and it is definitely an experience hahaha

There are a few things that need to be improved but overall I think is great!

I hope you like it too!!

I bought the car in the north, somewhere near Leeds...it was a long day trip.

Which garage did you used to go??

Thanks for the comment!! We could meet if you were still living around!!

I still used a garage near Stroud, where I’m living again. Probably a bit too far to go from Winchester though.

I’ve still got family near Winchester though so always on the look out for meet ups!

Very smart Landy. Looks like you’ll have lots of fun.
