Hello, I just joined the Landyzone. I'm living in the Netherlands and own a 110 2.5 n/a rhd ex.mod 1984. At the moment I'm putting in a 200 tdi engine from a discovery 1. I just took out the 200 tdi this weekend and will do distribution belt, waterpump, gaskets etc. change. I will have a lot of questions and hope you can give me some good tips:). I already have a question, but will put it on another topic. Best regards, Barend

:welcome2: Welcome to the madhouse, Cloggy.

You might get a bit of banter, but you will also get all the help you need, and enjoy yourself!

The West Riding of God's Own County of Yorkshire is nowhere near the Makkems of Sunderland!!

Forgot to mention that I'm originally from a village called Heptonstall, which also just happens to be in the West Riding!

:welcome:

Good luck with the conversion, well worth it! Remember, we love piccies here!

And the search button is your friend.

If I break my 110 (rather than selling it in one piece) I might have a few conversion components for sals...

Hello, ScratchyDom. I'll try to get some pics on. I posted a question on another part of the form, but no answers yet. Do you have any idea perhaps? I'm doing an engine conversion 110 2.5 n/a RHD ex.mod 1984, discovery 1 200 tdi. The 110 does not have a powersteering and I want to put in the powersteering from the disco 200 tdi. I have a complete donor disco 1. The problem is that the 110 is RHD and the diso is LHD. What parts can I use and what parts do I need to buy extra? best regards, Barend

I am English (well only half but don't tell anyone). There are loads of Landy owners in Italy. I live in a quiet provincial backwater. Rome's fun :)

Sorry I'm Dutch. I do not know about the tentions between you people. I will not mention it again.
There are no tensions between us!
There are.those who aspire to be Yorkshiremen and are unfortunate :D :D:D
Sorry if this may be slightly confusing for you.
As a Yorkshireman, i might not be perfect but that's as near as anyone can get!

Hi. And welcome.

Only difference I can think of is the steering box ( bolted to chassis) will be wrong. Looking at the front of the engine on the discovery. Which side is turbo on? If its left then will be a very difficult job. Possibly better getting a right hand drive disco if that's the case.

if you are facing the discovery from the front, the tubro is on the right. (if you are sitting in the car on the left ) So, I should get a steering box and some longer hoses and I'm alright I think.

Yeah sounds ok to me. Only awkward bit/decision is how you sort air filter out.

On your defender I imagine the airbox is fixed upright to the chassis. This will have to be removed. I used the discovery one and was a pain. If you have a snorkel you can put a k and n (mushroom) filter on the top. I believe you can get covers now.
