did you learn your macro economics by watching an episode of Blue Peter ?

Sales create revenue, the more sales the more revenue. Thats why cheap mass production is king.
A one off special item may make more profit on that one item, but they are not a sustainable business model.

I don't want to waste my time arguing with a heathen like you, go away and learn something before you try to belittle me.

woo woo a minute - so you think just because an item sells in quantity therefore it must be profitable ?

are you aware of just how large the non OEM motor trade is, therefore how will that help support LR ?

when did we start talking about one off specials ?

.......... anyways your in trouble now we've set DG on ya

This is not the 'anything goes section'. When psyxologos introduced him/herself and was all excited about purchasing the excellent freelander2 who were you to **** on his/her bonfire and put unfounded doubts into his/her mind.

it's not me that done that - i just suggeested that he do some reasearch to statisfy himself that the F2 was the right car for him

i would however have thought that having read the following (your words) that he may well now be having seconds thoughts

"Despite the hgf of the k-series the freelander1 became the worlds best selling 4x4 and saved landrovers ass.
The freelander2 TD4 shouldn't have the same problems (fingers crossed) , so watch this space.

I had to say it like that because its a new car and I can't see into the future.
I can say that it is better than any slitty in the same class though.

facts - lets deal with facts, not speculation.

where is the proof that the F1 was the "worlds best selling 4x4"?

for how long?
how do you define "best selling"?

how do you define "better than any slitty in the same class" - what parameters are you comparing?

Its whats been written in the motoring press on numerous occassions. Several internet articles refer to the FL1 being the worlds best selling 4x4, meaning its sold the most units compared to any other model in that same year and repeatedly thoughout its initial product life span. It was the most popular 4x4 in Europe almost as soon as it was introduced. I'm not saying its the best, it may of out sold others because it was cheaper.

Is it not just speculation that all freelanders are bad?
Where are the facts for all the abuse they are getting. My FL1 diesel is an extremely reliable bombproof workhorse and you can take that as a fact from me the owner of it.

Oi H sean has done his usual trick of winding someone up to a frenzy........stop biting and take a deep breath

oi ya numpty I'll have you know I've done nigh on 10k in a F2 over the last xx months - and while i admit it's a darn site better than it's predecessor it's still nowhere near as good as it could have been, it's a semi decent car and that's all is will ever be

whereas my 20 year old 110 is one of the best on/off road vehicles ever made :)
And how many of those 10K were off road?
I'm not claiming it's as good off road as a Defender, but it is far better than many suspect. It will go places many Defender owners don't realise their Defender will go! Of course it does take a bit more skill when the going gets rough, it's not just point & squirt like a modern Defender.
