yeah i have just re-installed it to make sure and am going to have another go in the morn

right i just went out with a reasonable charged battery so charger said anyway, connected it in turned the key and it fired straight up first turn.
seemed to be running really good couldint hear and missing and was idling fine, until temp was met around halfway then it just dropped to first line in rev counter and started running rough again like wanting to cut out and missing!!
switched to gas and seemed to run alot better!!!
switched off and re-started on gas and was still running better

so what does this point to???

If that was on an old 3.9/3.5 V8 I would say the temperature thermistor is a likely culprit. Don't know if P38 uses this but maybe worth a punt.

i think thats one of them on the front of engine, the plug that is similar to the injector plugs, also theres a single wire on a spade plug behind it!

right i have opened up the obd2 connector just to have a look at the one i bought looking in it theres 4 wires soldered in
bottom end one and 5th in and the row above is 3rd and 4th in is this correct?
and should i check the car one?

is the correct way to wire it up!!! might be worth checking its wired correctly or soldering or connecting it in to the wires rather than the plug!!!

ok so whats the trick key in second position plug obd2 in double check comm port is right and initialise
whats the first 4 settings ment to be??
i get on fx side 0 0 0 0 for first 4 before cycle and on right i get 54 54 54 54 then goes straight to 28 and 80s all the time

also if you can start it on gas i dont think it will hurt, i had mine running while fecking about with eas so i didnt flatten battery!
