G'day all, I am a kiwi bloke living in Ireland and have just bought my first defender out of the UK with the intention of driving back to Ireland.. long story short, the gearbox didn't want to play and I lost everything apart from fourth. (Cluster/layshaft maybe)?..so she is now sitting in Leamington Spa just up the road from my brothers at town and country landrovers (bloody nice blokes) requiring a new box. 300tdi and I think an r380.... so after a smile and a g'day to all... would anyone know of a good box for sale?? Thanks a million!

300Tdi will be an R380 main box if it has a clutch (!)....

Second hand box could be a good thing or a complete piece of carp... presuming you intend to keep the thing for a while I'd suggest either a recon box from the likes of ashcroft transmissions or (probably better) consider getting your own rebuilt by "our own" @jamesmartin - presuming he's not too far away (?) .

G'day mate. Thanks for the feedback there. I do intend on keeping it for a while. Yeah, a rebuilt one would be the way to go.. a bit frustrating as I would have rebuilt the one it it myself (time served heavy diesel NZ and Aus) but now I am in a spot with being in different countries and all haha.. I need to get her up and running and on a ferry! I will get in touch with the chap you recommended
