I'm sort of somewhere in the middle on this, I recently changed my VCU but it was because one of the bearings had disintegrated so I thought it best to seeing as I had it apart, but if you're happy to regularly do the one wheel up test and keep the cash until needed then I'd say that's sensible too, to be fair the advice to just get a new one fitted for peace of mind is equally applicable
