New Door Suppliers

I need to replace the old lift handle doors on my 90.

My original plan was to buy some push button versions off ebay and repair them, however doing a search on the internet has shown that there are suppliers of new doors out there, both push button and lift handle types.

The price seems to be anywhere between £300 and £450. I'm assuming that they are not original Land Rover doors for that price.

So several questions:

- has anyone any experience of new defender doors?
- are they all steel or steel framed with alloy skin?
- do they rust like the originals?

So you would go and ask some random guy trying to sell his stuff on fleabay whether theyre decent or not and believe him when he says they will last thousands of years?

if there basic doors ,no trim ,you can get them cheaper ,all the ones ive seen have steel frame ali skin,series three might be an option

You can get series doors complete with glass but without handles etc for about 120 quid from paddocks. Britpart but they're fine. There are people selling them on ebay for 200 quid plus.

I know when i went to re skin my push button door, that the pannels are no longer ally they are steel, the newer defenders are suppose to have steel doors. dont know if its true

is it not an option to skin them yourself.

Got some slightly damaged new ones from craddocks for £180 ea.

Hi if you go on MOD website there is an auction job lot of 7 fully fitted doors with lift up type handles... might be a bargain and sell the others on..
