We are proud to announce that the tuning of the new 2007 model, 2.4TDCI FORD powered Defender, is now ready.

After extensive research and testing by myself, and with Andrew at Allisport (who also donated the car), I am proud to announce that today, Wednesday 4th July 2007, I’ve finally completed tuning and testing, with very positive results.

In the next few days I will be releasing the power figures that we have gained from this car, after we have run 2 Defenders back to back on a state of the art ‘Dyno Dynamics’ rolling road.

I’m hoping to finish this back to back testing on Monday 9th July 2007.

I’m now finalising the removal of the speed limiter, which at present is set to either 82 or 87mph. Once completed, this will also be available to the public as an additional modification.

I hope your upgrade is a lot better than the job that your competitors in Coventry did on my td5 Defender at vast expense. The car now smokes like a Kuwaiti oilwell, judders, surges and is generally gutless and horrible to drive. Air flow meter, turbo hoses and new intercooler all checked OK. Can you help?

HI
Yes i have a fix for this problem ,, i of course would need the car to sort it.
give me a ring 0845 108 2815.

regards pete

re the 07 defender/ford upgrade , i belive me and andrew are the first to do it :)

HI
The figures are as follows.

Standard 117.5 bhp flywheel

Stg 1 +21 bhp totaling 138.5 Bhp
Stg 2 +36.2 bhp totaling 153.7 bhp

Standard torque 184.1 lb/ft at wheels

Stg 1 +34 lb/ft At the Wheels totaling 218.1ft/lb
Stg 2 + 56.9 lb/ft At the wheels totaling 241ft/lb

NOTE Landrovers figure of 260ft/lb is flywheel power so will look higher, we decided to have the wheel gain for more accurecy in the results.

We are also working on the Stg 3 ultimate version for the serious power freek :)

We have not made measurements of 0-60 on the dyno these figurse will come in the next day or so.

Regards pete

Im hoping after all the developement work is done we can get a clear 45bhp and around 100ft/lb of torque.

At the moment im finalising the speed limiter removal,

which i hope to have ready for the Billing show where andrew and i will be tuning the first of the publics defenders at the show offer price :)

Pete

whats your opinion of the 'new' defender?
i am very keen to get one and test drove 1 yesterday- felt vey good. Horrible enging sound though- compared to my TD5!!
With your mods is the 6th gear long enough or does it start reving to high at say about 90mph?
Let me know when you have a spare moment

Thanks

I think its a good car, the exhaust note is one that needs to be goten used to i must admit.

6th gear is all you will ever need in that car , it will run out or road OR the speed limiter will kick in b4 it runs out of revs.

give me a call if you want to chat about something no problem.

Thanks Pete

I have a overdrive fitted to my 90 and the td5 is chipped- I can happily cruise at 80-85mph without any hi reving.
If you were to chip a new Ford version and take out the speed limiter could the car cruise at say 85mph without excessive rev from engine?

Thanks

do you guys still offer/sell this. i am looking to tweak my new 08 reg hcpu.
and i agree with pete, the 6 gear does not run out of rev's the limiter kicks in way before.
cheers
chad
