i cant see the problem here, Sean. If Posts (not whole threads) cud be copied into a FAQ section within each sub forum - it woudnt change or affect the running of the forum at all. If a post could be highlighted as I suggested at the beginning, so that forum members could decide on wot would be useful, rather than just a "moderator" even easier - the sub-forum moderator would just need to check a post was genuinely useful and remove the crap from the FAQ section if inapropriate q's were posted.

maybe changes to the search engine - but that is another thing.

I dont think any new "Sub-forum moderators" should be able to change anything except within a FAQ section. That should be down to Roy and Accy only.

but then it'll just be like all of the other forums shirly?

i dont essentially disagree with your point, but then who would do it, would it not lead to fights over whats good/bad, there's a number of issues that could turn this fairly effective allbeit freeform forum into a highlighted nightmare

Sean mate yer need ta git out more.

my geek days are over - but it took only took 30 seconds to find to section in the vbulletin bible and 2 seconds to cut n paste the relivant text which shows what the problem with the search is

Spose if you only had one sub forum to look after it wun't be too bad, unless it was the Gaylander bit an then everything but the pub would be in the FAQ bit. It's deciding what is a FAQ an how much of the drivel do you edit out an if Accy gave the wrong person the job we'd end up with yet another universal Land Rover forum.

wudnt that be down to us to regulate the "Sub-moderator"? If we dont like wots happening - shout at Accy.

Freelander is easy - its the same things over again and again - I think Widgets post covered most things :D

complete bollocks, what had you been on to come up with that nonsense ?

take a chill pill trigger. laymans terms. were all here for the same reason, to help others.

unless u wanna take this up personally, in which case PM me, and we can have a quiet drink over this, and then i'll SQL your ass into next thurday

SELECT * FROM uc_hitlist WHERE name = "sean" AND heathstatus = "intensivecare";

ok, maybe not my constructive post.
my appoligies to you guys.

cant stand the i'm better than you attitude.

rite, 6 hours of work left. must get on.

i still think that post of yours was bollocks, and there was no "i'm better than you" attitude at all in mine - all i've done is shown that vbullitin can easily be configured to show results that include 3 letter words via simple change to the config

you carry on "SQLing my my ass into next Thurday" if you want - methinks it's you with the attitude issue
