hi have a r/r classic with a 200tdi fitted and lt77 gearbox have just fitted a new
clutch kit along with a new spigot bearing and crack seal. when i came to test it out when pressing the pedal down there is a creaking noise coming from the clutch in bell housing. sounds like a hinge that needs oiling. plus the clutch bites just off the floor. no air in slave cylinder and a decent pedal. any ideas

I take it you did not bother the lubricate the pivot points then. A bit of Copaslip works wonders.

When its new the clutch bite is nearer the floor,as it wears the bite point will rise until its worn out, then it will be at the top

Why's the clutch biting so low?

Well you wouldn't want a new clutch to be biting at the top. But we don't know if he has air in the system (he says not) or if the pivot pin parts (like nylon cap, clip and retainer) are in good condition or even present.
