interestingly even with very HD looking springs on, it has no quarms about tucking a wheel right up into the arch, with the other axle fairly level.

it was the 3" kit from MM4x4, personally i find their service very reliable...

who knows? :D

Well, as for their reliability, they're 100% with me at the moment. I asked one question using their contact form, and got no response. So I can't really comment on their service except to mention this. Maybe I'm asking too much, asking how much their suspension upgrade kit articulates.

They do seem to be very busy, but they should also be replying to questions!!

Anyway, their lift kit was good, and they are currently helping me sort out a snapped damper under warranty.

It's swings and roundabouts though whoever you speak to...

Cheers, sam.

. I have 265/75R16 which are 32" diameter but with no suspension lift, and have none of the above issues. Maybe I have stumbled upon the best setup, or rather my careful consideration was right first time?

My dampers are a little worn and I am due to buy new suspension at some point, still as unsure as I was at the start whether to lift it (a little bit) or not!!!
whats it like without having a lift kit on ? i assume the tyres would rub? and that you have done some arch work as well( cutting and fitting extended arch's) do you think you would be able to fit 30's on yours?

No rubbing and on standard steel wheels. I think the people who get rubbing, are the ones running wider offset. I had to adjust the steering stops quite a bit and the turning circle is worse. Not too bad in day-to-day use but towing (maneuvring) is rubbish and off road often I need to shunt here and there. A reason to fit wider offset wheels is to counteract this. But then you need arch extensions, and maybe bump stops too - which will reduce articulation. Everything's a compromise really, but I reckon my setup is a reasonable one. The other option worth looking at is 235/85R16

Oh, I have a different front bumper and did the camel cut. The tyres won't fit without this.

well one of the main reasons i want the wide set upwith arch's and wheel and big tyres is cos i work out in the country but not in any major off roadin areas but do need to make my own path lol as i have been using a quad with a trailor and a ford ranger which isnt that good and i'm borrowing those off of different people so lookin for a more perminant car. the turning circle shouldnt be a problem as i'm not gonna be manuerving in any tight situations, but cos im not gonna be doin any serious serious off roading i can sacrifice the articulation so a certain extent but the wider wheels is a bit moe important just due to the surface's im driving on. the wheels im lookin at are quick chunky ish the off set is alot more than the stock ones from the pics 4x4 Tyres :: The Ultimate 4x4 Tyre Website :: i'm lookin at the 15x7 black 8 spoke with 30x9.50 R15 insana turbos 4x4 Tyres :: The Ultimate 4x4 Tyre Website :: as they say they are a good comprise for on/off road use, i know i will diffinately have to cut the arch's the put some wider arch's on and probably bump stops as well, but would i be able to get away with not lifting the suspension with those tyres and alloys if i did some serious srch cutting? cheers for the help bud

I can't say 100% but with that size tyre (30x9.5) and if you're prepared to lose some articulation by fitting bigger bump stops if needs be, you'll be okay. Personally I'd say 30x9.5 is too small. For info I bought a set of 5 265/75R16 for about £60 each (delivered) - the same price as the 30x9.5 in the link. To give an idea how much bigger, 265/75R16 are 32" diameter and 10.4" width. The extra ground clearance under the diffs/steering gear etc can be really useful.

Put 265/75/16's on mine along with HD shocks and springs and 2" lifting blocks.
We took a set of Disco steelies grinded out the welds in the centre, removed the centres turned them round and re-welded them back into place. This ment the wheels stuck out a couple of inches and i can use full lock without rubbing, just trimmed a bit out the wings.
Problem i have with mine is it eating bushes, took a rear trailing arm bush out in less than 3000 miles lol.

Next mod is going to be replacing the rear and front arms, however i am stuck on whether i need single or double cranked rear arms and if i should fit poly bushes or stick with standard ones.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Chris.
