We have a 110 fitted with 235/85/16 General Grabber, I want to fit 265/75/16 BFG, (as fitted to our 90), will the 265/75 fit the 235/85 rims ?

:) aologies

The tyes may physically fit, but the old style '750 LWB rims that are fitted to LR's are not suited to tyres wider than 235's, as i have been reliably informed, as they are not wide enough, only 5.5 inches (5.5J)

I have been told you need wider ones - i know, cos i had some, that compomotive disco rims are 7J, 7 inches wide, so i would assume that most LR alloys are, and i know the Wolf rims are wider also.

While as i said, they may actually fit, and won't cause any problems, in some obscure situation it could cause an issue, e.g make them more prone to high speed blow outs, make them sit at a slightly odd shape so wear oddly, maybe slightly more prone to coming off rims while off road, that kinda stuff.

:) Bit clearer?

Thanks everyone for your help on this subject. I have now bought the 265/75/16, ................ and a modular steel wheel to fit them on FOR THE 110. .......... Any body in Spain ( Malaga ), want to buy my old landrover rims ? I also have some Rostyle rims with two good BFG AT's KO , and two not so good BFG AT's KO, they came of the 90....................
