mornin' all

getting to grips with the beastie - what a car. As it's knocking on for 10 years old there are a couple of little jobs that need doing and I could use some advice on some (I've been searching on the forum since Sunday with not a lot of luck)

1. fuel filler cap - although mine works as it should from the switch - I took off the little panel in the boot to find the ring pull & string but the end of string is not attached to anything - where does it attach and how

2. rear washer doesn't work, everything else does so ordered new black pump

3. glovebox - the damper is there but the inserts for the 2 bolts have pulled through - is it just a case of drilling through and fiting a new nut & bolt or can I get new inserts and glue them in?. Also although the cable releases the glovebox, only the far left catch is working. I've removed the box & surround and the black plug with the cable attached is there on the far left latch but I assume there should also be one of the right side catch & mine is missing - how hard to replace and are they linked by seperate cables to the release button

4. Workshop manual - I could do with one (Haynes type of thing). Seen loads of CD based ones on fleabay but which ones do you chaps recomend

looking forwards to many happy years of P38 ownership

cheers

Haynes manual is a useful as tits on a Mars bar. Down load RAVE from here. www.landroverresource.com

I do like to suck on my Mars Bars.
I tried to get a Haynes manual for the P38 but no-one sells them. Got the Brooklands full Landrover workshop manual from Amazon but it just a printed version of RAVE. Glad I got it though. Bought for me by she who must be obeyed!

I have a classic Rangy workshop manual (also Brooklands) 1986 -1989 if anyone is interested. Postage and a donation to the forum would suit.
