New bonnet looking very cosy and at home. My expansion tank actually fits under there now!

Got +2" braided brake hoses today. Got them fitted and bled :) whacked a prop shaft on and tackled the gearbox linkage...

What sort of black magic did lode lane use to get this Linkage working??? I have managed to get low locked but nothing else. Not a bother as I only have one prop on and I'm in no rush to get anywhere lol. It now moves back and forwards, turns and stops. But a new steering box will be in order soon as mine leaks like a sieve.

Next stop, turn the beast round, change rear axle, chop off rear Qtr chassis and all the outriggers :) joy!

Wooooohoooooo! I get to see what me fence looks like, dont worry about the linkage dude tis simple. Can't wait to cut the arse off it , i think we will have fun on that job.:p

Nah i havent got a bike mate. But ive seen the same colour scheme where it was mainly green with black details so im jus mixing it up a little bit.

Wont be able to see ur fence for long Si ;) That tail end might take a while. Especially that pesky A-frame!

used to have a kwaka myself!! superb fun sold it for a landy funny enough - baby came along so packed in motorbikes.

Anyway im thinking Satin Black on mine - with orange though

Black and orange is a pretty striking colour scheme too. Makes me laugh, I'm doing all this work, and when all the mechanical work is done and sorted. I gotta strip or dismantle a lot to get it all sprayed. Tall about arse about face lol

Lots of work today.

Massive progress!!

Got the old gal cleaned up a bit, ripped out the old exhaust that was just tangled in the rear axle, took off the rear prop to facilitate axle change. And last but not least, took the plunge and chopped the rear qtr off my chassis. what a buzz when that last cut was made and the lot fell away :)

Then came the MIB Components HD rear qtr. This thing is made from sturdy stuff and its bloody heavy. We used an engine hoist to support the rear crossmember and get the legs lined up.

Still alot of prep work to do on the chassis as the DPO butchered it half to death. Gotta get a hoover or something down the chassis as its full of rust dust and debris thats never gonna be good for the life of the chassis.

Props to MIB, the measurements are spot on, everything lines up and sits beautifully. Cant wait to crack out the welder and get this thing set solid.

Next to do... change rear axle and fit extended brake lines. Then the HD outriggers also from MIB. After that its just cosmetic final touches... Really getting there!!!

Now for the pics you all love so so very much ;)

To be honest mate, i cant remember. I got the rear qtr, all 4 out riggers and some dislocation hardware at the same time. That was about £450 total. Give em a ring, they'll sort you out ;)

I can vouch fer the quality of the xmember its bootifully made and lined up perfect , almost too easy, cant wait to start welding up in the week dude i'm all excited.:D

It's gonna be awesome. Gotta get some proper paint, like some zinc182 or that red oxide stuff to bladder the chassis with. Then hammerite over the lot. I think prepping and coating the chassis is gonna take an age :-\

Rear quarter chassis on, locked down and sort of dressed. The shock mount holes are slightly off but that shouldnt be too much of a problem to sort out.

Jobs left to do...

All 4 outriggers, replace rear axle and tidy up the dumb irons at the front for the bumper to mount on to. After that its all pretty much cosmetic. I need a new power steering box, the one i got off ebay leaks like an absolute mofo. Gonna cost me more in PAS fluid over 3 months than it would to replace the box lol
