I have fitted a late 15p td5 engine to my 200 td5 90 and they have different egr coolers / heaters.

i need to 2 different diagrams for the early and late rad pipework as i will need to cobble the pipework together untill i can remove the egr valve and the cooler all together.

thankyou

no! thanks thugh. i am talking about th front of the engine. the later engine has a different egr heater thing with 2 connections

I coulda sworn that post 10 had BOTH the coolant hoses/connections?

Look at the top diagram

I know it shows a cylindrical fuel cooler but it has the newer type layout complete with egr cooler. I'm not sure what happes to the extra hose though unless it has a T-piece on one of the other connections to accomodate it.

thanks. the issue i have is that my rad has a connection on the front of the rad!,

these pics look like a D2 set up rather than a defender.

i'll just by pass the egr cooler altogether i guess as it'll be removed anyway when i de egr it.

I fitted a 15p to my 98 and came up against the same problems.
If you bypass the EGR cooler you need to make sure that you still have a flow circuit for the oil cooler. Your early header tank wont have the extra stub so you need to get fancy with the pipework (T pieces etc) or change the header tank for a later one. I linked my new style fuel cooler (only got two connections not three as in the early ones shown in both diagrams) in series with the oil cooler which seems to work well. I used domestic copper fittings to make up the relevant elbows and it all looks neat and tidy.
