hi all, my boss and i have just aquired a 34 year old petrol engined landrover, after being stood for ten years we managed to get her started today but w ehave issues with the clutch!!! there is no or very little resistance on the pedal and with the engine running we can put the gear stick into gear but the gears dont grind and she wont move!!! make sense?? lol any suggestions would be great! thanks!

don`t feel too bad mate. i was going to do mine at my old work who had 9 ramps... kept putting it off and the left the place due to a difference of opinion ( and them being dodgy ) and now my clutch release bearing is knocking like a poltergeist in the cupboard... god i luv my defender :D

If its been stood for 10yrs the clutch might be the easier part of the restore, brakes and chassis spring to mind.
Hardest part of the box out will be undoing the floor pan and tunnel bolts, while your down there change the slave and master cylinder for peace of mind.

Not being silly but you have checked that the transfer box is engaged? sorry to state the blindingly obvious but its worht a check, the clutch is an easy swap i have done 3 or 4 and never had any major issues just remember its a heavy box and youll be fine oh and make sure its all lined up properly using an old spline or centering tool
