need help with my discos gears!!!!!!!

hello! can anybody give me any hints or tips with my disco? went out today and it was fine, parked up and when i returned to drive i could not get 1st gear? after pulling away in 2nd futher down the road i could not get 5th??????????? after around 5 mins of driveng i pulled over and tryd again and this time got all gears but were very hard to get in! when i pulled up home i now can get all gears but all are veryvery tight ??? any help? cheers

Where abouts are you; maybe someone can recommend an independant.

isnt changing the bias plate a simple job?
i think the plate cost about a fiver, then its taking the centre console out, drill the rivets on the plate over the gearbox and change the bias plate..?

something like that?
do a search on bias plate on the forum, you might be able to find something else more

If its the bias plate..... buy a strengthened one - it will save yu money in future.

Does the gearbox have any oil in it?
