Morning All,

Could someone tell me the best place to get after market bits and bobs for my FL. I'm after light protectors, front and back. Side Step, replacement digi clock/radio display etc, etc.

Cheers

Hello there,

For the light guards try Home

They do a clip on version of the OEM light guards which means you will not have to drill into your wings.

Try ebay for the steps and the digi clock, however our local Land Rover dealer is selling Freelander I accesories off a little bit cheaper so try you local dealer

Dave,

Thank you very much.

My FL is still in the garage....they can't get it started!!!! Hopefully I'll get it back this year as I have a new socket set that needs testing!

Cheers

Sorry to interrupt but if you want to replace your digital clock/radio display because of missing (partially or completely) digits there is a cure which I applied as well (some 6-7 months ago) and the display still works as good if not better as when new, did a search for it and here you go:
(good luck with it).

Willo,

That's a great help, thank you very much. I'll try it as soon as the garage have fixed the FL. So far they have found that the fuel lines are clear, both fuel pumps are working, fuel shut off has been reset but they still can't get it going :(

Darrnw,

Thanks for that, very interesting and yes mine is the TD4, well it was for the hour I drove it for before breaking down! I'm on my 3rd elise now, two of which had the 1.8 K-series in. I loved the engine even with HGF with one of them. That actually was a good thing because it gave a change to put a 165bhp head on. Anyway i'm very used to having the same symptoms as the next person but having a completely different fault, part of the magic I surpose.

The FL is in the garage now, so I guess they'll sort it one way or another.

Cheers

I had mine to 2 "Independant specialists" who both diagnosed different problems 1 being leaking injector the other which was closest was a new high pressure fuel pump £600+. If you want it back and it is under warranty it may be worth mentioning they check I think it was called the high pessure fuel stop or something. As I say no one could get mine started and a bit of head scratching and time later I figured it out to be that. Mine is the same year so chances are it could be that!
Once they are running they are bob on! a few bits and bats have been wrong with mine but I think I'm on top of it now everytime just sorted it myself!
Also I fitted a roverron box and what a difference that makes! Totally different car!

Aha,
high pessure fuel stop does ring a bell.....I think they've checked that.

"roverron box" sounds interesting...Whats that...ECU remap?

Cheers

I think this is the website http://45zs.info/75Zt/R75tu3.htm
Will your car start with easy start? Mine did initially and as the seals on the fuel stop got worse I couldn't start it with anything! The common rail doesn't build up enough pressure so you haven't got enough compression. One way to test it is under the rear seat is a small panel with the lift pump underneath. pull the return pipe off and get somone to turn the ignition to position 2 so the pumps work if the seal has gone fuel will pee out of the return imediately!
