Need help with finishing my v8 engine in Blackpool.

Hi folks,

I have replaced the head gaskets on my 97 Discovery V8 EFI LPG and I have built it all back together again except for a few hoses and some wires not sure where they go and from the start these wires were not in good shape either.:confused:

I was hoping there may be some one with a bit more experience who wouldn't mind giving me a helping hand. I want to just get her back on the road again. The problem I have is inexperience and not a lot of time to do it and the two combined means when I do get time to do it I spend most of the time researching things on internet or on rave . If someone with more experience could help me out it would go a lot quicker and I would really appreciate it.
I'm in the south shore area of Blackpool . There will be lots of brews and food to keep us going at it.

I'm struggling to get pics up from my phone and for some reason my flicker account isn't letting me upload from there either. Is there another way?
 
I managed to find another way. Sorry for the poor picture quality as I've only got one camera working on my iphone and it's the one on the screen side so I had to use a torch as a flash so the pics are over exposed in places.

The first picture shows at the n/s back of the fuel rail there is a small circular drum with a nipple on the end of it. Where does this go to?

The second pic there is actually a few pics because I struggled to get a decent pic of the coil and the all wires going into it and not sure if this is write.

And the last pic shows a solenoid from my LPG system which I actually found in the engine bay and I don't remember it being connected. It comes from the Leonardo ECU. What is it for and is it important?

I didn't get a picture of this because I was freezing and soaked by this time, but there is another nipple at the back n/s rocker cover. Again I don't think there was anything there before I started. Where does that go to?

Since starting doing the head gaskets I've noticed a lot of little problems that I need to get to the bottom of save them for another thread.

the first picture appears to be or a fuel pressure regulator and would need to be connected to the fuel line,
cant help with the other pics though, as im more of a diesel man,
but Im in Blackpool, south shore myself, if I can be of assistance

The fuel pressure regulator would that go back in to the inlet plenum some where?

FPR gets connected to the return to tank fuel line, its your fuel return from the rail basically

the other pic with the little inline resistor looks like either the MAF resistor or a ballast
 
Right so the fuel rail has a threaded fitting to which connects the fuel supply from the pump which has a threaded fitting crimped on the end

This comes up from your drivers side chassis rail and goes to the fuel rail

With it there will be another identical rubber hose but with no threaded fitting, this simply pushes onto the hose tail sticking out of the fuel pressure regulator and is secured with a clip

This is your fuel return line.

Regards the choob sticking out of the NSR rocker cover, that is supposed to have what's known as the mushroom breather fitted, but many go missing and some engines never had one, and instead had a rubber hose fitted that went "somewhere"

Anyway tbh if you don't go offroad you can leave it open, if you do it is wise to extend it and connect it to your breather system

where abouts does the return pipe go to from the FPR exactly?

Haha I don't mind working in the rain but I can't be bothered with it today all I seem to be doing lately is working in the rain either at work or on the disco.
 
I thought I would just send this pic of the engine. It's not finished yet but hopefully it will be soon.
