Well finally getting on with the 94 V8 disco rebuild. Got everything off and ready to roll the chassis out from the body however it would make it alot easier if I can cut a bit of metal to clear the block. But before I go cuframes

Its the bit at the front at the bottom of the radiator that joins both the head light supports.

An help would be great dying to get the chassis rolled out and start cleaning it up.

great link but not too handy. the very front of the car there is two strips if you like that join the two fronts of the car together the top one has the bonnet catch and VIN number on and the bottom one is what the radiator and intercooler sit on - thats the bit I need

radiator frame sits on chassis front cross member

Gotta be the best 200Tdi shell in the world!!!

I think he refers to the slam panel at the top and there is another cross brace spot welded in between the two front body mounts at the bottom of the light boxes.

Do your self a favor and drill out the spot welds as opposed to just slitting it open with the grinder, especially if you are putting it back together after!

6 spot welds on the bottom brace and about 30 on the slam panel and remove the cable and support struts.

I started drilling the welds but its fairly rusty any way andd would like to replace it. Might just have to make one up my self. Great link by the way Jamesmartine hope my shell looks like that when I am done but it is missing the brace that I'm talking about probably as it makes it alot easier to take the shell off and put it back on again.

Go to a scrappy and get one, thats what I did.

You can see the spot welds you have to remove on this picture.

Or you can just cut the replacement out and weld it to yours.

Nope the slam panel at the top is not made any more unless a local landy garage can get one, the bottom bit I could not get either, sorry.

this is where someone of the forum now shows us a link to one ;-)

Do a Google search for Froggats "Easy on" panels and watch their 'inner wing' video - very interesting.

Drilled the spot welds out and got it off and after a few hours of jacking and playing about with timber supports finally got the chassis rolled out - woo hoo. Ill get the photos and start my online rebuild but may take a while. Would love to get the chassis galanised but depends on cost and that will decide if I strip everything off.
Big lad decent website cheers
