Hi,

So not as yet come up against any real problems fitting cubby box in '97 110 300TDi Defender but I have got a couple of mystries to solve:

There is a multipin (with ony 3 wires attached) connector attached to the rail along the front of the seat (which I thought was the port for linking the "computer" for reading details off the imobiliser), a round 3 pin connector with a rubber cover on and a fuse holder with no fuse in.

They all go into the wiring loom that comes up from the transmission tunnel to the EGR unit.

Anyone suggest what they are / were for?

IMAGES NOW ON NEXT POST!

I'll get pics up as soon as I work out why the servers just chopped them off my OP.

It's like the guy just said, it's a diagnostics socket. What the feck it's doing on a 300tdi I don't know but it's there. There's one on my 300tdi Disco as well.

WTF are you on??? it's a 300tdi 110. What fecking diagnostics????

I thought I had the mounted rectangular one sorted - it sunds like it is for the diognostics machine but only links to the alarm / imobiliser as far as I know (I assume hence only 3 pins used) to allow the data read off.

The guy definately went under the seat recently when he programmed up a new alarm fob for me. The round one and fuse holder are still unknown tho.

ALARM FOB???? you have an alarm  Only alarm on mine is the alarmed look I get when I see the state of the chassis..

I'm assuming that was an extra?? That didn't get taken up very often?? Cos I've been in a few Landies and this is the first time anyone's ever mentioned a factory fitted alarm/immobiliser.

i see quite a few one customer has 3 ,though ive removed alarm/immobiliser system from then
