ive gone off a cummins conversion they're just too heavy !! im starting to lan more towards a lexus v8 or similar for my next road build. ill probably help one of my mates with is aim of a 400hp NA RV8 i love cummins sound and the torque and fuel economy are good but just size and weight puts me off.

awesome build idea :D most prepared bloke on LZ :D

any other mods being built in during the build ?

Weight! Something i never considered unbelievably. Anyone know the stats?

Plans are air ride all round and tuning whether engine conversion or mod the td5. I toyed with the idea of a 335d engine as well as i have the opportunity of one but id imagine electrics would be a nightmare.

Other than the above itll stay as it is now really

I think they're around 500kg !! Almost twice the weight of a standard engine !! Ive looked at a 330d and m57 engines too theres loads of possibilities out there :)

Cool love the air all around idea :) apart from that theres nothing really "wrong" with them love my TD5 :)

A transit towing a plant trailer was in the outside lane on a roundabout and crossed into the path of the X5 that stamped on the brakes and i didnt!

Hard luck, I crashed my work van twice in 10 minutes yesterday, Indicating right, some lad went to go past me as I turned, crash. No damage luckily so we left it at that, 5 mins later reversing down a dark ally and caught someone's wingmirror. Luckily no damage.. Oopsie. What's it gonna cost to fix? We're talking the nice white td5 right?

Well nearly a year on and shes still with me, albeit broken! It broke down one day in the summer. It was idling and just stopped dead. Wouldnt start again even when the AA had been out an played so got it recovered and as we unloaded it at the garage it fired straight up??? So instead of leaving it there I drove home again. Next journey out the oil pump failed so engine is pretty much toast. Its in my barn looking sorry for itself but now i have my new workshop ill make a start on reviving it, along with my other current projects!
