I saw a post on this forum stating that D1 and D2 southdown snorkels are the same.

The only part that I can think of as being critical is the part that mounts to the wing, both in terms of angle that the pipe going up the wing comes out at, and the curvature of the base so that the fitment to the wing is good.

Can anyone confirm whether or not this is true? I'm looking for a D1 southdown snorkel for my 200tdi discovery, but can only find D2 ones locally. If they're not right I'll wait for a D1 snorkel.

Hi , Hope this helps

Think @bankz5152 is the man to talk to about these

That first link is helpful, seems to suggest that the parts outside of the wing all fit, and that the difference is the airbox end which doesn't worry me as a 200tdi airbox just has a round inlet.

My main concern is the profile of the wing mount and whether the curvature will be a good fit to the wing, if the one in the first link is a D1 snorkel on a D2 as I understand it to be, it looks like good fitment so I should be ok.

Thank you.
