haha looking at those pics as well I think my sofa might need a quick clean

Thanks, I was quite excited to pick it up and use it for the first time this evening (missed a rabbit as I didn't have my gun ready) but my mate picked it off with his new 410 S/S he got today

I'm hoping it'll be a good first gun, next on my list is steel proofed semi auto multi choke for use on water birds and geese as I need something that'll take a 3 1/2 magnum due to the size of the geese up here

And so the countdown begins, I start uni again next monday so my times about to be cut in half and I still have to;

finish welding the rear crossmember

attach towbar

winch bracket

weld rear fuel tank crossmember

mid member

re-fit and paint fuel tank

entire top of bulkhead cos the **** I bought it off didn't mention any of this extra welding it was two chassis patches…….. What a ****er, I hope he crashes his little civic with its ****ty private plate…… seriously ****ed at him

two patches on the footwells

Following this I must;

wax oil the entire chassis and fuel tank

order and fit new shocks all round

re-assemble the body

re-wire rear electrics

fit new door and hard top seals

fit new exhaust through the body and behind truck cab

assemble front wing again after putting in the new thermostat (it's easier for me with it off)

re-wire drivers side lights and both spotlights

Foam line the inside of the truck cab

fit new seats

re-fit dash and speedo

MOT

and finally paint

All of this in my books needs to be done by the end of september or mid october latest so IT'S ON!!!!!!

I will break this bastard before he breaks me, needless to say I'm rather ****ed off due to the weather disrupting my schedule and putting me 2 weeks behind target

It'll be worth it in the end but now it's getting on my tits, ****ing repairs everywhere and still 22 items left on a never ending list that started out at 4

First ever attempt at welding today and it went rather well :D I'll get some pics tomorrow as I didn't finish until around 8 tonight

Pretty chuffed with what I managed as I've crossed off a few list items

Did the fuel tank crossmember, the mid crossmember, part of the rear crossmember which leaves me an easier job on the crossmember tomorrow as the sides are now solid.

Did find two new holes on the insides of the crossmember legs so I cut new patches and they're ready to weld in tomorrow

Winch bracket area has been smoothed over so when that's ready I'll put it on but for now I think it can wait for after the MOT

So left to do then is this list which I have now broken down slightly into a new list for myself as it allows me to do everything in a faster manner

Simple;

paint and re-fit fuel tank

wax oil the entire chassis and fuel tank

order and fit new shocks all round

re-assemble the body

re-wire rea

hahaha ok ok, just for you I'll take some extra ones tomorrow

Says light rain showers so I should be able to cut the old rot and then tack the new bulkhead pieces into place.
Should also be able to re-fit the fuel tank and paint the rest of the crossmember

If all goes well I'll even be able to have repaired the inside of the bulkhead and the footwells too

Some of you might be a bit surprised at how bad the bulkhead really is, got round to picking it apart and its like swiss cheese

New shocks on thursday too if Landrover spares gets their delivery, £120 for 4 Pro-Comp + 40's so I'm happy with that price

Sorry guys, rain stopped play today……… Light showers MY ARSE!!!!!!

Did snap a few piccies of all the rot on the bulkhead so you lot can get an idea of what I'm about to attempt this week
Hoping to convince my mates dad to let me use his garage for a day so I can complete it

Rain and the junkyard (sorry about the gaylander and shogun in the pic)

Heres a pic of my rear crossmember weld (needs flap disking down still) that shiny piece is a full new 3mm plate so I was chuffed with how it came out for my first proper weld

And now………….THE BULKHEAD OF ROT!!!

Made from bog roll, body-filler and rust this heap of **** is the bane of my rebuild and the reason why I will forever hate the **** I bought it off

not been around for a while but good to see you are cracking on with it, bulkhead give or take was as bad as mine so i just decided to replace. keep up the good work and keep the pics coming. ps can i send you a begging letter after your lottery win lol......

Thanks mate, and yes feel free ;)

Well I'd hope to get all the bulkhead done tomorrow if the weather allows me to, thus leaving me the job of fitting the fuel tank, grinding down the last welds, putting the new waxstat thermostat in which can be done under spotlights and then re-assembling the body before cutting it up to feed my new truck stacks and performance exhaust through (so close now) :D

If not I'll be begging for the garage off my mate who lives next door to this guy as they have an unused garage

Changed the tip just before doing the passenger footwell

Doesn't matter too much with them, I've secured the panels fully and I'm going to chemical metal and fibreglass paste the rest of it up tomorrow in order to fully seal it then grind to a smooth finish for painting

Hoping to have it all done by the end of next week

Welded on the windscreen mounts and refitted the fuel tank, painted the rear crossmember too

Picked up some nice new parts so I'll put a pic up soon

Hoping to put the bugger back together on sunday if I can get the bulkhead fully sorted tomorrow with some chemical metal on the inside and do the thermostat

getting there matey, she'll be done soon.

Hoping to put the body back on it on sunday when a few mates are free to help me lift it, chemical metaling the inner bulkhead tomorrow to seal it all up and then thats about it repair wise really
Just the engine to look at

Now thats real shocker porn.

They set me back a whole £120 but rather worth it, might go get some boots for them before I put them on just for extra protection
