Freelander 1 My remote not work perfectly

Dear everyone
When i press bottom to open my car sometimes work sometimes not work, i change battery but same problem and used spare remote samething
Now, where is my problem

Sit in your car with remote in hand, press unlock button 5 times quickly. Light will flash in instrument binnacle, remote is now programed. If this does not help the remote receiver is faulty and will need replacing. Lift facia off the instrument binnacle, it's the bit with the single wire hanging lose. But you will need your fobs reprogramming. Buy the way if I press my bottom nothing happens, although people do give me a funny look

If the spare is working, does that not mean there's no problem with the receiver and it must be the actual remote that's faulty (assuming the 5 presses reset doesn't do the trick).

I read the OP as the spare is doing the same thing. If not, yes, the fob would most likely be at fault. Mike

In one of my local supermarket car parks my fobs on various cars have struggled to operate.
I have to sometimes press the button several times to get it to work. Right next door to the car park is a large tower with loads of aerials on it.
I put it down to that being my problem as my fobs work fine elsewhere.

Both remote same problem, that's mean problem in receiver

It could be the receiver in the dash. Or there's lots of radio interference near by.

How can i know there's radio interference?

You can't unless you move the car to a different location. If it's better in a different location, that's your answer.

If this your solution, i need to tell you it is happen with me all time

OK. So if it has poor reception everywhere, then it's likely to be the car not an outside influence.

That's mean I need to check or change anything in my car to solve this problem

As you were told in the first reply, if its the car it is probably the "remote receiver".

if you live near a police ambulance or fire station this can have effects on operating your remote also if you are within distance of a mast full of dishes antennas this can also have an effect 70 centimetres is the main problem but other bands can do harm as well it is just according how much power they are putting out.i am a radio ham and have been since the sixties and often seen this sort of things going on.

i am not near of any signals, this problem happened always with me my home . my work , travailing

You will need to buy a new or used receiver. Easy to replace, but, you will need your fobs reprogramming to the receiver. I don't think the five presses will do the trick. Mike

i am agree with you about five presses
that is mean anyone can stolen my car, the trick must be inside car

Hi,
It is probably the buttons on the key fobs. They are notorious for issues. The 'button' (on the printed circuit board) has a quite long centre part (the bit you actually press)
These very often break off about half way causing an intermittent operation.
I do not believe it is anything to do with outside interference at all - (I only offer my 30 years as a Ham radio op as to why)
When issues start to occur to the fob, the operator ends up pressing the buttons harder and harder - this exacerbates the issue.
The answer is a new fob, or - a repair kit (IF you have very good soldering skills !!!!) - these are available on ebay.
You can open the case and look at the 'buttons' - please send a picture of the buttons. Usually it is easy to see when the button operating 'shaft' has broken.
I just had to have a new ''fob' - (supermarket special) - and am awaiting the 'repair' kit from ebay (china no doubt) - however - I DO have an air reflow soldering station - but, I am sure that with care, the work could be carried out with a good soldering iron, solder 'sucker' and braid.

Yes, of course - it could be another issue - however - having gone through exactly the same 'trauma' myself --- I would guess this is your issue.

PS, if the supermarket special fob is recent - take it back to them !!!. - here in Portugal there is a 2 year warranty on ANYTHING new.
