If its a p38 give it a week or so and then you will need to have all the electrics and suspension replaced , then another few weeks you will need the engine and box replaced and so on and so forth for the rest of your days lol :D

Running these crappy rover v8's is , the one in my bmw is twice as powerfull and uses half the fuel as the one in my RRC

i recently found out that the efi hotwire system only has 2 injector circuits, left and right.

thus, when firing 18436572 it fires LRLRLRLR, that's 4 fuel injections for every cylinder firing, so we're wasting 3/4 of our fuel used! great HUH?!

ps. im not sure if you knew that already :D

It's true.

When examining my haynes manual I realised there are only 2 injector circuits outnof the ecu, each connected to four injectors!

It's a joke!!

As such, you would assume a well tuned carb would be more economical? And what happens to all the extra fuel? Does it just linger in the inlet mani and then get drawn in to the cylinder in one big wet vapoury overrich inlet stroke??

Seems ridiculous to me, I guess that's why I cannot run the disco for more than a few minutes in the garage without choking! Oh, and my plugs were like furry black and had only been in for a few thousand miles!!

Still love it to pieces though!

Cheers :D

Im considering buying 4 boxes of 10 spark plugs!

thats 5 changes in total. we'll see how it goes, but i fitted uprated leads and new plugs, and it now drives through deep water like a champion, so im wondering if the sooty plugs are seriously hindering the igntion system...

thus, if it takes a set of plugs every time i go offroading it's fine by me - imagine how you'd feel if you were wearing a sweaty black furry jacket all the time!!!

anyway, cheers! :D
