Given a Freelander 1 1.8 petrol
Does not seem to over heat so hoping head gasket is good. Lots of creaking from underneath and the odd clunk. Suspect the Diff mounts are shot.
Anything else i should watch out for ?

Happy to say no signs of mayo !
Good news, but keep checking every week or two. It will fail eventually, it could be months or years from now but it will happen and if you are in the habit of checking fluid levels you'll catch it early so no harm will be done and replacing the gasket is not that hard a job.

Yip, My first K series was fine when I bought it but it had 105k miles so I figured it was probably due to go for the second time (it came with no history) and sure enough I started getting mayo on the dipstick about three months later. I had a pig of a job sorting it as the previous owner didn't seem to know anything about regular servicing. Here is a thread I started
