I don't subscribe to the FL saving LR, if anything it could be the demise of a 50 yr old company.
Great in concept and as a 8yr business plan (97-05) in reality LR were flogging dead horses. If you don't agree, then I refer you to the above faults poll.
As for the LRX, I think it should stay a concept

That faults poll is a load of rubbish, if you look at some of the contributors they have had faults with absolutly everything. If they had a bad petrol, why would they get an l-series which then turned out to be a bad one, so they get a td4 which also turned out to be a bad one. Total bollox and clearly the tractor boys sabotaging the poll.

Technically all spam aside, if you were to root out the genuine replies >75-80%, the figures would change, however the proportions would not
As it stands, not as scientifically robust as I could make it, but in the public domain, it's as good as you're going to get.

How long have you owned a FL now, all of about 9 weeks, buying a second hand LR vehcicle isn't going to do anything for LR's finances or saving the company.
if they were that good in your eyes howcome you havent't owned your 8 yr old FL for as many years???
Regardless of my thoughts on the FL I'll still be driving the FL long after you 'blow ins' and 'wanna be's have moved on to your FL2, LRX's and BMW X3's.
At £21k for FL2 and proposed £25k upwards for the LRX, you know what they say............ A fool and his money are easy parted!

Oh yes did i mention that my freelander came free when i joined this forum, oh no wait i already had it and was just not on the internet.
Regarding the poll okay, but all vehicles have faults so why only highlight the freelanders? If you look at the series, defender, discovery and rangerover forums you will see that they have alot of faults with their vehicles. My freelander is an extremely reliable vehicle.

go wash your mouth out along with all that modern ****e, gaylanders i wouldnt be seen dead in one. all the new landys are. i mean land rover has lost what is was they were, they were a multi purpose vehicle, with pto take off everywere to drive. farm and plant machinery, as well as being used everyday. your gaylanders are not real landrovers. can you rearlly see people restoring gaylanders in 60 years, i mean with all your stupid computers there will be no point, they will be crushed along side your wifes ford fiesta. would u rearlly take a gaylander to a third world country were u cannot fix them easily cus of stupid computers. did i mention there crap.

That's exactly the point isn't it? the Freelander wasn't meant to be like that. Land rover saw a market for a smaller SUV, it's primarily a car for every day use not a workhorse. It's aimed at different market with different requirements. There's not much use for a broomewade compressor or farm machinery on the school or supermarket run or even on a venture into Europe with the caravan.

To be fair build quality is an issue with most models not just the freelander.
Landrover did a pretty good job with the design considering the budget they had at the time.

The L-series diesel in my freelander isn't rocket science either. I can fix most things in the road. Anything goes wrong with the ecu and i'm stuffed though. But you won't find me in a third world country miles from anywhere so i should be ok.
