My new Cats arrived this week.

One fitted it sailed though its MOT, the reading was something like 0.003 so almost fresh air coming from the exhaust now :D

As it was dry and sunny I decided to have a go at fitting my Steering guard and bull bar.

Unfortunately once the bullbar is on the steering guard is too wide. :(

Why cant I have some luck with this car. I realy like the look of the bull bar and with all the other damage I've pickd up its only a matter of time for the lights or wing to take a battering.

I may try a find a cheaper aliminium guard to see if that fits. I wonder if every other Discovery owner who does these mods has so much trouble.

Some pics from today.

When they went off they had little black allen head bolts all round the edge to make them look split rim, but they have gone. Any idea where I can get replacements?

Time for a small update.

The bullbar and the Steering guard would not fit together. When the Bullbar was on one of the brackets was welded in the wrong possition so it was attaching at an angle.

Also there was some other welding needed on it and the plastic coating was well past its best.

So I had the bracket removed and re-welded in the correct place, the bottom bits that hang down were cut short and the light protector bars on the passenger side was welded back on as all the welds had split all ound where it fits in the A Bar. It has obviously done its job in the past judging by the dent on the corner of the bar.

Then it went off for blasting and powder coating.

The bar had a lot of corrosoin so its not exactly pretty but at least its 100 times better now. :)

Then today just 1/2 hour to fit it all on :D

Got to save a bit or sell some of my collection on EBAY before I can afford new tyres just yet.

My plan is to get 235-85-16. This should give me a 1.1/2 inch lift on the axle without too much cutting of bodywork.

I cant wait to get them on.

Just got back from Bury/Thetford way. I got a call this afternoon from my mate asking if I was up for a few new lanes he's come accross near Thetford.

As I was sulking cos I missed out this morning and I cant do Bures tomorrow it cheared me up no end.

was pretty dry but had a couple of puddles, added to the dust the front of the car is now a light grey colour :D

The ground was generally dry like Drizz said, but there was a couple of big puddles we could not resist, then getting back behind Drizz in the duststorm did the worse :)

Time for an update.

I've not been out for ages now, the timing is always wrong for Bures and my mates seem to have given up on the Laning.

But I've done a few bits to the wagon.

I brought a replacement door after picking up some damage and its been in my garage for months so today I decided to fit it since I am trying to clear out the garage.

The old door.

I've spent some time cleaning her up and following round the rust with rust cure.

I also fitted some 8" 100w driving lamps and will be wiring them up tomorrow.

A few pics from Bures yesterday

It was very dry and the ground was like concrete (Literally in parts eh dan..;) ) so I kept getting stuck with my standard wheels and suspension, where normaly in the mud I would slide through. :)
