Hello - still can't seem to upload photos so I can't show you Betsy - but she is a 1970 2a....

I am just getting her read for her MOT and was sorting out an issue with the lights when i cast my eyes down to the front cross member. Where the steering whatsit passes through the chassis the side nearest the wing has a rust hole. I didn't notice this when i bought it as it was covered in mud and i poked the good bit with my screw driver.

Now i'm pretty sure this will be an MOT failure if the look that closely but as its the steering I would want to get it fixed.

Having searched I can't find a thread on it so i'm wondering if , as the rest of the part of the chassis is sound could i weld a patch there?

Any help welcome!

Thanks!

as long as its sound weld it up ,dumb irons are the parts of chassis rail that protrude infront of front crossmember they are available as weld on parts
