MOT steering..live

Hello,

Just thought i'd share the tension of an MOT that we all know so well..Just had a phone call saying all is well apart from free play in steering wheel.

I asked them to check adjustment on steering box but not overlly convinced they understood or followed me..they seemed to be thinking it could be a steering box mounting problem?? Seems odd to me that even if there was play in the mountings that that would lead to free play in steering box...

Lets hope adjustment works otherwise big money time..

It is not unusual for the mounting bolts to loosen up ona steering box - and if they do the box can slop about a bit rather thanactuating the drop arm.

Might not be big bucks more than needing to tighten/replace the bolts holding the box in place.
