P38A MOT passed!

MOT failed on two things. I have few days to get the parts as cheap as possible if I want it done.

Anybody got any ideas of cheapest parts numbers?

1) front tie rod bar - whole.
2) rear tail pipe

Britpart is an option at this stage

It has to be cheap as I’d have to pay the garage at the end too

Why?

Thought it was going for a Pre- MOT inspection?

Take it and do yourself you have a grace period (7 days?) and free retest only on what failed, we’ll sure that used to be the rules

But things change

so what do I know

Panhard rod is ANR3666. Bushes are cheaper what's wrong with it?

they said front tie rod/track bar - ends are gone so get the whole bar.

but do they mean one in front of axle or behind front axle?

Track rod is the one behind the axle. One end can be replaced other end is part of track rod. Then there is Panhard rod at front of axle anchoring it to chassis. Then there is drag link from steering box arm to N/S swivel hub. Think you had better ask them.

I will price the options up and go see them tomorrow morning.

I can see

Panhard rod - ANR 3666 , £30 approx
Tie rod - TiQ000020 , £30 approx
Drag link - QHG000060 , £30 approx

Reasonable I can manage one of them

Rear single box - ~~ESR 3538~~ (as below)

they all come up as 4.0/4.6 single rear pipe, does this fit/matter?

I found Foundry 4×4 cheap for the steering bits they are in your neck of the woods but delivery is quick.

Foundry have clearly layed out drag link (steering box - passenger wheel) /tie rod (sits behind front wheels) £25 a pop.

No exhausts though

Single DT pipes seem hard to find

@Disco1BFG - that’s the one - ESR 3196 is the magic number for DT single tailpipe. Put that in there’s the usual options.

BMach is £73! So Paddocks seems the one. Widely available for £35

Went to garage for them to show me. By front rod they meant the drag-link (frontmost of vehicle). I’m guessing the damper may also be tired but they said it’s fine, it is easiest try and get whole thing off and replace lot - it’s rusted together and new one comes with new linkages.

Paddocks Spares it was - they had a web offer on the cheapest option drag-link, and although Foundry 4x4 are cheaper on this item, as I’m getting the rear exhaust from paddocks may aswell have it all delivered as one.
Ordered this morning - 2 stated in stock items with express delivery £79inc vat.

Indy will put them straight on with the new mid box and retest. They recognised that there has been a lot of work done since they saw it last year

All you need to do is get one and fit it correctly.
