mot failed

hi JUST failed my Mot track rod end pitmans arm but they dont bother my i can sort those out worst thing for me is the emmisons failed got readings of above 4 .at test centre kicked some real sooty smoke out proper black i run it on chip oil and it runs good plenty power etc was seviced a few months ago oil and all filters. but im at a loss of how to fix this, any help proper welcome

Maybe if we knew what engine you had it'd help?

Assuming it's a 200tdi or 300tdi has the ip been tweaked? When were the filters last changed? How many microns do you filter the 'chip oil' down to? Does the 'chip oil' contain anti-foaming agents?

make sure it is warm and had a good "blast" before the MOT.
