MOT fail

Get under it and have a look. If you can fix it fix it. If you can't and it's minor forget about it. If you cant and it' major get them to fix it. Or pay someone else. These are the only options. 150 miles away might make me inclined to fix it meself.

First you need to find out what is leaking.
It's very obvious if it's spilled oil at a service, as spilled fresh oil doesn't flow the same as oil that has dripped out of a hot engine. Hot oil from an engine seal has had the crap beaten out of it. This reduces the surface tension and so it creaps slowly over whatever it touches on its way to the ground. Fresh spilled oil has lots of surface tension and so just runs off whatever is in the way on its way to the ground. Also oil that has been building up slowly from a leak will have dust and road debris in it. Fresh spilled oil will have little or no debris. The MOT tester will or should be able too tell the difference between a leak and a spill and mark the advisories accordingly.

Shouldn't the thread be titled 'MOT Pass'?

So, they fixed 2 minor issues, only remaining is an advisory (which was presumably on the record when you bought it?? Not sure I see any issue at all. If the leak is in fact something major broken/missing I'd be looking at the Warranty and if covered get it fixed near home? If its not major, as seems the case, then join the club of LR's with some oil 'protection'.......?!?!? ;-) Enjoy, A

H guys a update on the oil issue seems the under tray was satturated with oil .The rear crank seal was leaking and ladder frame ??.I have been sent two invoices and job sheets of items done to the car before release and all oil seals fixed and other issues coming to a total cost of £1601 for parts and labour and i have been assured that all leaks have been dealt with.So happy with that
