Hi all, MY defender went in for its MOT on friday....needless to say it failed...didnt do too badly, adjusted the wheel bearing to remove play but my question is...can i use 8th part plate to patch the holes in the chassis rails or do i need thicker plate, thanks Robert

3mm plate is fine

8th plate is thicker than whats originaly on the chassis anyway as long as you do a neat job and a damn good continuous weld all the way round it no tester should be able to fail it
