Howdy all,

As we have a few MOT testers about, can anyone explain what changes came into effect today?

Heard someone mention lights??? Is this all about the HID conversions, as I have put projector units in my lights with HID's so I have the correct beam pattern etc - not to dazzle blah blah....spent a lot of time trying to get it all right, still have the headlight washers but no self levelling - will this class as a fail? as its sailed through the last 3 with these fitted?

Just wondering so I know whether I need to pull them all to bits prior to my MOT on Monday.

Any help appreciated, and as always, any snide comments always welcome for a smile and to brighten my day :D

Cheers - wonder why I never got an 'advisory' last year then, as it looks like from that info they started using the new rules from last Jan?
 
Looking at the links provided, if you have done away with your cat/diesel particulate filter, you will fail !!!:confused:
 
Regarding de-catting

Looks like this will be a fail, however, it is easy to do without it showing

When i did my D1, i removed the front pipe, used a slicing disc in the grinder, cut 3 sides of a rectangle, smashed out the gubbins, and welded up the slice. Easy

I'm in Northern Ireland, and as of last Monday, when i did an MOT, they are still not conducting diesel smoke tests

Well I will let you know what happens on Monday, as I ain't had a cat for over 3 years now, but won't the age come into consideration?
 
On the P38 I had I knocked the cats out with a plumbing spring and bar, that left the enclosure intact and as it was LPG it passed the emissions
 
diesels don't have cat's, my mot guy said its not a problem if its removed as its not a cat, this was after he did his retraining on the new regs last week
 
Just reading that link. Silly things like the trailer lights, is that from a certain year on?
I have a 7pin tow bar socket and I didn't bother with the fog light wire.
