Got my 300 TDI back today with a new MOT cert :D

Bad news is it cost me £730 :(
Most of that cost was for labour for welding (about 3 1/2 days worth) usual places including rear wheel arch around the door post, rear floor around seatbelt anchor points, bulkhead and NSF inner wheel arch.
She also needed new pads front and rear and OSF calliper had seized so that needed sorting.

I am now at the stage where I have spent more money on sorting and fixing her than I paid for her back in June.

Still got a few things to sort like a new sump (apparently hers has gone pourus) got diff guards and steering guard to fit, a snorkel to fit and then I think that will be it for now.... Unless I fit a tow bar too..... Then it's off into the oolou searching for a money tree :)

Yeah and I know.... Need photos :)

thats why i bought a welder and am still learning to weld.:)

When I bought mine I did the following sum:

Deduct expected cost of repairs from budget, what's left is what I'll pay for the vehicle.

Mine worked out about 50/50 (i.e. cost me about the same to get it up and running in my preferred condition as it cost to buy the thing initially) but it was (almost) within budget and now I know what I've got.

Unless you pay big money for a "no faults" vehicle  that's the maths you've got to do.

Proper Disco owner, then!
I'm in for mine for nearly 3 times what I paid for it with more to spend in less than 6 months of ownership - so you have my empathy! :p
